We are so proud of you, our graduating Class of 2023.
Congratulations on your well-deserved success, you did it! Congratulations again.
As Director of the Stockbridge School of Agriculture, I am so happy to share in the excitement of your graduation day, along with your family, and friends.
Through your journeys into hands-on learning, we have watched you grow, and explore, and fall in love with your areas of specialty. As a Stockie Graduate, you now join the ranks of our highly successful alumni, found all around the world.
And the world needs you.
The challenges posed by climate change will require everyone’s efforts, but you are in a special position to contribute your own knowledge, training, and skills to the survival of the planet, and all of its people.
Your Stockbridge degree, whether in Arboriculture, Horticulture, or Plant and Soil Science, sets you apart as an expert. With time and experience, your own work in Landscaping, in Turfgrass Management, and in Sustainable Food & Farming will establish your roles as stewards of the land around you. You will make the world better.
For some of you, your Stockbridge internship has turned into your post-Stockbridge job. Some of you will return to revitalize your family farm. Others of you will continue your education in our graduate school programs.
But all of you will be life-long learners, unlocking the wonders of the world around you with the curiosity you developed here at UMass.

Class of 2023 University Commencement
The full university Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held at 9:00am, on Friday May 26, in McGuirk Stadium.
CNS Senior Celebration 2023
The College of Natural Sciences Senior Celebration will be held at 3:00pm, on Friday May 26, in McGuirk Stadium. Most CNS students attend both this event and the university-wide commencement in McGuirk.
Stockbridge Associate Degree Commencement Ceremony 2023
Stockbridge School of Agriculture will hold its 2023 Commencement Ceremony for Associate Degree Students at 11am, Saturday May 27, at Stockbridge Hall's Bowker Auditorium.
Graduate School Commencement Ceremony 2023
Graduate students who have completed their degree requirements are invited to the Graduate Commencement Ceremony at 3pm, Friday May 12, at the Mullins Center.
