Acushnet Farmers Market-located at Stone Bridge Farm, is looking for an intern that wants to expand their business skills while working onsite at the market and in the community-an office job working outdoors! The market is located in southeastern Massachusetts in an area with an abundance of cranberry bogs and one small farmers market with big plans! Role and Responsibilities *work directly with the farmers market manager to support her with the day to day management of the market *help with the set up and breakdown of the weekly market and manage vendor setup space *own and manage the social media for the farmers market and identify ways to leverage social media tools for market advertising, attracting new customers and drawing new vendors to diversify the market. Post pictures to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. *Own the relationships with all the participating vendors to ensure that they have the necessary resources to run their business successfully at the market. Assist with social media and advertising initiatives. Collect referrals and recommendations, research additional vendors to join the market *Research and source appropriate entertainment for the market and incorporate the community when possible. Manage the entertainment calendar and advertising outlets. *Develop, own, manage and grow email mailing list for regular newsletters. Work with participating vendors and develop ways for all to leverage and grow their reach within the community. *conduct vendor interviews to profile them in the market newsletter, write articles and develop creative ways to communicate with market buyers and the community *Research and work with press for local coverage *We are looking for an intern to start in May and run through September. This is an unpaid internship. You will gain incredible hands on business and agricultural experience. Work hours and work location can be flexible. We are small plot vegetable growers, cranberry growers, maintain our 72 foot high tunnel and own and maintain 4 honey bee hives. Please email your resume and a cover letter.

This internship requires approximately 20 hours per week, 5 of which are Saturdays when the market is open. There will also be times when your work location is flexible-preparing newsletters, setting up interviews, contacting vendors, etc. Ideally, the candidate should have strong communication skills, an interest in marketing, creative, and able to work independently at times. Agricultural background is certainly a plus.
Wage, Salary & Benefits Description:
This is an unpaid internship, but there is opportunity for us to provide vegetables, eggs, honey and meals on Saturday.
