Job Description: 
Background Gardening and groundskeeper manager position available on private ranch in the pristine White River National Forest, 30 miles outside the agricultural town of Meeker, Colorado. This position requires an individual with a discerning eye for aesthetics and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be a team player and have a strong work ethic. This person will perform their duties with respect to the maintenance and landscaping of outdoor areas and facilities and will report to the ranch manager. This person will also oversee the work of grounds maintenance personnel in the performance of landscaping activities. This is a seasonal position, with an opportunity for a full-time position. If seasonal, it generally runs from May 1 through mid fall(specific dates can be flexible). Salary is commensurate with experience. Housing or housing assistance is available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to the following: - Caring for and cultivating gardens and lawns by planting, fertilizing, weeding, watering, trimming and pruning, soil conditioning and mulching - Ordering and installing new plant materials - Cleaning interior and exterior areas daily, as well as performing additional seasonal cleaning and winter preparation tasks - Removing leaves and snow and keeping outdoor areas safe from various weather conditions - Operating and maintaining garden and landscaping equipment and systems, as required - Follow safety guidelines for operation of any equipment and in the performance of overall duties - Other related duties from time to time Required Qualifications & Desired Personal Attributes - Significant previous grounds and landscaping maintenance experience required - Knowledge of high mountain horticulture and native florae as well as knowledge of annuals and seasonal container plants - Demonstrated working knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in grounds work and related safe work practices - Ability to work with minimal supervision, but also follow direction - Strong communication and management skills - Ability to work outdoors for long periods of time and in a variety of weather conditions - Strong work ethic, high integrity, collaborative, positive attitude and dependable - Spanish proficiency not required but preferred
