OBJECTIVE The responsibility of the Plant Line Supervisor is to utilize weekly production sheets to accurately implement the General Manager’s planting process. Provide training to crew members on facility specific methods utilized in the planting process including pinching, spacing and watering methods to ensure the growth of quality products. Communication with the General Manager and Propagation Manager is required to efficiently move production inventory between locations and document any product discrepancies or adjustments to the item availability lists in a timely manner. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice. · Utilize weekly production sheets to implement the General Manager’s production plan and ensure the accurate counting and documentation of plant varieties in coordination with the Propagation Manager · Receive and communicate daily tasks list to employees, answering all production and method related questions and inquires as needed · Execute all items on the task list in an accurate and timely manner, ensuring all actions are completed in accordance with company procedures · Provide training to new employees on various production methods and processes including spacing and pinching techniques, watering methods and the understanding of various products and stages of the growing cycle · Assist facility management in the application of the sterilization process in preparation of the upcoming growing season · Execute the movement and selection of products through the shipping process, loading trucks in a timely and accurate manner · Document accurate pricing, labeling and production counts in accordance with company standards and communicate regularly updated numbers to the Growing Operations Manager · Identify and communicate any production or safety related issues to the Head Grower or General Manager in a timely manner · Conduct daily maintenance checks of operational equipment, communicating any issues to facility management in a timely manner · Complete all other tasks as assigned by Management COMPETENCIES · Leadership and Coaching · Verbal Communication · Maintenance of Productive Team Relationships · Strong Work Ethic · Well Organized PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 2+ years in the industry, greenhouse experience, GED required, plant variety knowledge WORK ENVIRONMENT This job operates in an active growing facility environment.
