Holmes Farm grows organic cranberries. We also have blueberry, mixed vegetables, chickens for eggs and meat, herbs and flowers. We operate a 100 member CSA/Farmstand Hybrid and a food truck. New this year is a Thursday Childrens Discovery hour and a six part Barn Show Music Series feauturing some of the best new acts and local talent in the northeast. Holmes Farm is innovative and exciting but is gritty and shoestring at times. Assistants are responsible for assistance in all operations of the farm and marketing. Growing, weeding, irrigating, harvesting, fertilizing, tending livestock, inventory, fencing, grounds, parking, ticketing, maintenance of small equipment, food prep, cleaning, and sourcing of locally grown products. Weekend farmstand and food truck shifts are a REQUIREMENT. Schedule is 7:30-7:30 five days a week with Monday and Tuesday off except holidays. A midday 1.5 hour siesta is built into our schedule to allow some time at White Horse Beach (1/4 mile from farm), time in the shade and some reflection. A 20 dollar a week credit is given for farmstand products and there are ample farmer food offerings as well. Housing is available onsite in a dorm style setting overlooking Cape Cod Bay. Interns have free access to phone, internet, and a large eat-in kitchen, This position requires a strong work ethic, ability to commit to the entire season, trustworthiness and some experience working in the field. Ideally the assistants will be able to live and work and learn amongst a fast-paced, diverse farm and take ownership of some aspects of the farm based on skill, will and entrepreneurship.

Experience working outside required. Excellent Customer Service skills required. Mechanical aptitude, basic knowledge of hand tools, carpentry, plumbing and irrigation repair. Ability to take direction and follow through with a task until completion. Ability to be flexible and adapting to an ever changing set of required tasks. Basic math skills. Patience and a sense of humor. Communal housing protocol such as keeping common areas clean, locking doors, turning off lights etc. Most importantly: arriving to work ONTIME, ready to work and have some fun!
Wage, Salary & Benefits Description:
Housing in a dorm style setup, 20 dollar a week credit at farmstand plus ample farmer food for free, use of bikes, fishing rods and kayaks/canoes. Free addmission to Barn Shows. Stipend of $150.00 a week
