Classes that can be applied toward either the Soil Certificate or the MS in Soils:


Spring 2016 Classes:

• StockSchool 597T – Soil Morphology and Mapping – 3 credit) - Class will be team taught by a number of Soil Scientists in the New England States. Classes will be from 9 AM till 3 PM, on Fridays, every other week from Late March till Mid-June (7 class meetings in total)

Summer 2016 Classes:

• StockSch. 597I – Hydric Soils (1 credit) – 2 day class (8:30 AM – 4:30PM) to be offered on a Friday and Saturday May 20-21 2016
• StockSch 597J – Advanced Hydric Soils (1 credit) – hydric soils is a prerequisite for this course or instructor permission  – 2 day class (8:30 AM – 4:30PM) to be offered on a Friday Saturday  June 3-4 2016

Fall 2016 Classes:

• StockSch 575 – Environmental Soil Chemistry (4 credits) – In Person class alternate Saturdays  (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) in Amherst (7 class meetings total)

Spring 2017 Classes:

• StockSch 515 – Microbiology of the Soil (3 credits) - In Person class alternate Saturdays  (8:30 AM – 4:30 PM) in Amherst (7 class meetings total)


Classes for MS Students only

Offered Every Semester

• StockSch 696 – Independent Study (1 – 6 credits) is offered every semester (fall/spring) for MS candidates only.
• StockSch 793A – Seminar Presentation (1 credit) is also offered every semester for MS candidates only.

Fall 2016 Classes

• StockSch 697S – Literature Seminar (3 credits) – Blended Course with online assignments and  in person presentations (minimum of 1 Saturday in Amherst)
