Many UMass students have studied at the Sachamama Center for Biocultural Regeneration, While the Center is not currently offering formal classes, students are invited to spend a month-long internship during the northern summer learning how to re-create the perennially fertile pre-Columbian anthropogenic soil known in Brazil as Terra Preta do Indio (black earth of the Indians).  For more information on this program, see Summer Learning Internships in the Peruvian High Amazon.

UMass students who might want to earn academic credit for this experience, should contact Dr. John Gerber
