Woodstock Sustainable Farms is seeking a farm manager to oversee production of pasture raised sheep, beef cattle, broilers, laying hens, goats, pigs, and some mixed vegetables on 180 acres. Farm Manager will also be responsible for property management of farm. This is a full time, year round position. Duties/Responsibilities- Pasture based animal husbandry- -Raising/breeding sheep and lambs for meat -raising meat chickens from chick to slaughter -raising beef cattle -raising pigs from weaning to slaughter -caring for laying hens -caring for other animals (horse, goats, dog, cat) Gardens- Manage three small gardens totaling less than a ¼ acre of mixed veg production Pasture- Manage 35 acres of pasture, (haying schedule, rotational grazing plan, rest, etc.) WLT trails and upkeep- Work with the Wyndham Land Trust to steward 150 acres of conservation land, trail maintenance Property and Grounds- General upkeep associated with maintaining a 1710 B & B, mowing, landscaping, painting, plowing, shoveling... Equipment Maintenance- Keep machines in good working condition and on regular maintenance schedule.
