Grain and Cotton Farming Roles in Australia
We are currently seeking applicants from grain or cotton backgrounds to fill a number of roles for up to a year. Current roles: • General Machinery Operators This role requires people with a good all-round ability that can operate different types of tractors doing a number of different applications. Common duties involve seeding, spraying, fertilizer application and ground preparation. • Header/Combine Harvester, cotton picker A combine operator must have previous experience operating large combines with 30 ft or bigger fronts, most combines are John Deere or Case IH and are equipped with the latest GPS and yield monitoring equipment. We are also after people who have operated John Deere 7760 baler cotton pickers. • Farm Hands/mixed farming A good all rounder with strong practical skills such as welding, mechanical expertise along with tractor experience and also a bit of livestock. To be eligible you must have general servicing experience of farm equipment an understanding of machinery operation and applications with the use of GPS, the ability to problem solve, communicate effectively via phone and 2 way radio and carry out standard day to day tasks. There will be a variety of crops that you will be required to work on including small grain (barley, wheat, chick peas, mung beans, sorghum) irrigation row crops (cotton, corn, rice) and oil seed (canola, mustard) crops will vary depending on the season and growing conditions.
