JOB DESCRIPTION: Irrigation Superintendent Dart Realty (Cayman) Ltd., is seeking a dedicated, experienced and professional Commercial Irrigation Superintendent to facilitate and oversee all of the irrigation systems and needs throughout our properties. Responsibilities: • Help build an effective team by developing employees and working with them to build and support a team environment. • Manage production for our high quality services utilizing an understanding of complex irrigation concepts and equipment. • Ensure that customers are completely satisfied through effective communication, relationship building, regular site visits and consistent quality of service. • Be able to professionally develop quotes and proposals based on customer needs and system diagnosis. • Have a working knowledge of all equipment used and ensure equipment is operational and functional as needed by teams. • Sell enhancement services in order to improve site conditions, coordinating with other employees and customers to ensure that the enhancement work is completed successfully, on budget and on time. • Ensure a safe working environment for employees, customers and the public • Procurement of materials, supplies and components ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Heavy focus on water management • Weekly Production & Work schedule – 2 Week Look-ahead • Meet with crew foreman and discuss installations and troubleshooting issues that have arisen throughout the day • Meet with Superintendent and Operational Manager to discuss scheduling and resolve issues. • Meets with Landscape Architects and irrigation designers to review plans, institute design changes, troubleshoot and develop As-built plans and documents. • Oversee work quality and production • Coordinate with Landscape and installation crews • Irrigation plan material review and take-offs • Procurement of materials and supplies within the purchasing protocols of the Department. • Maintain and manage Irrigation stock inventory • Oversee crew time-sheets and sign-off on work hours • Check equipment and maintenance needs • Install, wire and program controllers and interfaces • Responsible for managing upto (5) 3-man crews • Keep track of jobs so that they can be billed within contract terms turning in reports, and time & materials work sheets when the work is being performed outside of the scope of contract. • Ensuring all employees are working safely and within safety policy and procedures REQUIREMENTS: • Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the commercial property irrigation systems with a focus on large multi-zone, multi-controller computerized systems and centralized weather data systems and multi-site interface. • 4-5 years’ experience in commercial irrigation construction • Must have design and maintenance experience in landscape lighting systems. • 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role • Must possess strong time management and organizational skills. • Continually increase and maintain knowledge based on landscape and irrigation systems • Willingness to learn, must complete all training requirements • Able to work independently and make independent judgements and decisions which impact the company and client. • Good critical thinking and problem solving skills, ability to solve standard problems and seek guidance on complex problems. • Excellent attendance, punctuality, dependability and reliability • Strong communication skill in English (verbal, written, and reading comprehension) required; Bi-lingual skills in Spanish are a plus. • Must have the ability to deliver flawless customer service and to develop strong employee and client relationships • Be able to provide a hands-on approach to task management, employee and customer interaction. • Possess a professional demeanor and appearance. • Must be fluent in reading and interpreting blueprints , contract documents, specifications and technical instructions. • Knowledge and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products. • Expert knowledge of RainBird, Hunter, & Toro Irrigation systems and components. • Possess certification and best management practices of commercial irrigation. • Must be willing to maintain certifications and attend continued education to stay current with industry trends.
