Job Description: 
The Second Assistant position will be filled by a highly motivated individual with proficient communication skills that is organized, has a strong attention to detail, and a keen sense of their surroundings. This applicant must be eager to learn and gain knowledge about the management of high quality turf, on and off the golf course. This is a position that has opportunities for advancement in our management team. We are looking for an individual with long term goals to succeed in the turf industry. This position reports to the superintendent and senior assistant, and is responsible for chemical and fertilizer applications, the calibration of this equipment, hand watering greens and fairways, irrigation troubleshooting/repair, drainage installations/repairs, shop organization, crew leadership, along with general turf maintenance practices. Century Country Club is a 1924, H.S. Colt & C.H. Alison designed private club approximately 25 minutes north of New York City. A Lynx central computer controls a Toro irrigation system with Network VIP satellite controllers. A new 17,000 sq ft maintenance facility will be completed April of 2014. The renovation of all the tee complexes was completed in the fall of 2012. Century is an annual host to the U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier, as well as other local and regional events.

Minimum Qualifications: 
2 or 4 year degree or certification in Turf Management or related field 2-3 years experience working on a golf course (internships, spray tech, irrigation tech)
Wage, Salary & Benefits Description:
