Business / Organization Name:
Bass Rocks Golf Club
34 Beach Road
Our interns can expect to work a 44-48 hour work week with a day off and will have an opportunity to lead small crews and get involved in all aspects of the day to day operation of running a golf course. We've had a great deal of success preparing individuals to be successful assistants and have had students from schools up and down the east coast. Bass Rocks is a private 18 hole golf club with tennis courts adjacent to the Atlantic Ocean and Good Harbor Beach about 25 miles north of Boston. The club was originally laid out in 1896 by Herbert Leeds. We are looking for one or two people to round out our staff for 2017. Our interns will be exposed to all aspects of managing a golf course with a lot of time working directly with the first and second assistant superintendents. We are in the midst of completing projects on our Golf Course Enhancement Plan including bunker and drainage renovations and cart path improvements. A strong emphasis on cultural practices, spoon feeding and water management will be emphasized as well as the many unique challenges that come with managing a seaside facility located so close to the ocean.
